Founded in 1649, this quaint, picturesque town on the Chesapeake Bay, was the temporary capital of the United States from 1783 to 1784, after the signing of the Treaty of Paris. It is also the city where the first newspaper, the “Maryland Gazette,” was published by Jonas Green in 1745 and the place where the Naval Academy and St. Johns College reside.
About the artist: Patti DiMiceli was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After coming to the East Coast, she lived aboard a sailboat for several years and landed in Annapolis in 1986. The charm, the people, and the culture of the city captured her heart and inspired her to create a series of silk posters, and prints highlighting the fine details of Maryland’s capital.
