Giving back. It's a basic principle that drives us and one we live by. For each Creatures of the US Naval Academy print, we will donate 15% from the sale—on our website and direct-to-public—to the US Naval Academy Foundation (http://www.usna.com). The Foundation’s mission, in part, is to raise, manage and disburse private gift funds that provide a margin of excellence in support of the nation’s premier leadership institution, the US Naval Academy.
One of the many Naval Academy programs supported by donations to the Foundation is the Midshipman Action Group (http://www.usna.edu/MAG/). This amazing group of midshipmen reach across the Naval Academy walls and touch the hearts and minds of our community and beyond. The MAG manages more than 50 projects and 500 midshipman volunteers who donate thousands of hours to make a difference in the lives of so many. After contributing more than 24,500 hours of community service last academic year, the MAG plan for this year is simple: "Do what we do, but better." Whether it's tutoring children, honoring the service of a terminally ill veteran, shoveling snow, or helping the homeless, our midshipmen demonstrate true leadership in action.

About the artist: Patti DiMiceli was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After coming to the East Coast, she lived aboard a sailboat for several years and landed in Annapolis in 1986. The charm, the people, and the culture of the city captured her heart and inspired her to create a series of posters and prints highlighting the fine details of Maryland’s capital.
